  1. Yes I have wondered why professional athletes tend to retire from their sports at a relatively young ages. Some of the pros are that they can do what they enjoy for longer. Another is that they can make more money and get more fame. Some cons are that they can get hurt because of aging. Another is that they will be missing out when the team wins and celebrates there victory.

  2. i think that it shouldn't matter how old you are, if you enjoy the sport then play it. And if you don't feel as old as your age is then who cares. And things i agree on is some people have had there share so its time to let go. But, if you feel old inside and you know your time has past then its time for you to stop being selfish and quick.

    2. It does matter how old you are because older people have more risk actors than younger people do. Plus younger people have more stamina and skill.

    3. Younger people do not have more stamina and skill then older people. They will only be better if the older athlete stops exercising and loses their stamina and skill.

  3. I think that older people shouldn't play sports. They have a bigger risk factor of breaking bones. Also older people wouldn't have the same skill as they didn't have in their previous years. The good thing about it is that older people could get some exercise instead of sleeping all day. They could also play the sports with their grandchildren so they can be happy.

  4. I have never actually wondered why professional athletes tend to retire from their sports at relatively young age. Some pros are that they know what they are doing. They have experience in the game. Some cons are that they aren't as flexible as they used to be. That their bodies aren't what they used to be.

  5. Some pros of athletes staying in the game at a old age is that it keeps them healthy and in shape . Another pro is that it gives them something to do instead of sit on they butt or whatever old people do. A con of them being a athlete at a older age is they are more prone to get hurt. As you get older the more your bone get's more and more brittle.

  6. Yes, i have wondered why professional athletes retire from their sports at relatively young ages. I think its very strange, why wouldn't you want to stay in the game if your really good at it? Some pros of older athletes staying in the game are that they can stay in the sport that they love doing. They can still be active at older age and maybe it could make them healthier. Some cons are that they could end up really getting a serious injury because their bones are getting weaker or that they don't have the enough energy like young people do, so they might loose their sport if they get tired and worn out.

  7. some retire early because they have already made a lot of money and they aren't in the shape they used to be in. some pros of being in the game at an old age is that youre considered a veteran at the sport and you have the most experience at it. Also if you have been in the sport longer then you've probably made the most money. some cons of being old and playing a sport is that alot of people will call you old and you wont be as fit as the younger players

  8. Pros are they'd know what they're doing because they've done it so long.Cons are they're more likely to get more injured

  9. When you reach a certain age your body begins to change and deteriorate, when your an athlete and you start at a young age your stressing and pushing your muscles to an extent that normally you wouldn't so your body gets older faster which ends up making it a lot harder to keep playing , skating , swimming or riding.
Tony Hawk is a skater getting into his forties if you watch his more recent games performances you can see he's not hitting the tricks he used to and he's wiping a lot more , his knees are giving out.
because he's older and doesn't have the same flexibility, or dexterity he had 20 years ago.

  10. Athletes may tend to retire at a young age because maybe they have a plan to keep that job until this certain age and then move on to something else.
Some pros and cons about older athletes staying in the game:
Pros: They are still in good shape and want to stay committed.
They are trying to finish a life goal.
Their bones are strong enough to keep playing. They don't have any injuries, or problems with their body.
Cons: They can get hurt easily. They aren't as strong as they used to be when they were younger.
They might have an injury that has permitted them from playing anymore.

    1. True,True. Because when you get older things kinda get harder like when those old people in the store they be walking slow Or like how I have to help my grandma get out of the car because her left knee has some kind of injure.

  12. Players in any sport usually retire at a young age due to the fact that most athletes cant keep up with their bodies at their older age. Every year players who come in are a lot younger than the veterans, being young is a good thing in sports because it allows you to do a lot more so with the older players they cant keep up with the younger players and are forced to retire. Others could possibly be when they hit another younger players and because their body wasnt as durable and tough as it was before they get hurt and thats why some older players retire. pros and cons of being an older player could be... the pros, youll always have a title for being the oldest something, and you get to prove to others no matter what age that its still possible, the cons are an injury could affect a person greatly and be a severe risk to that person.

  13. The pros are you are already respected by many members. A con is that you are weaker and less reliable. Another pro is that you have more experience then everyone. Another con is that you will have to practice twice as hard to keep up.
I think it is right that professional athletes retire before they get to old because they might let the team down.

  14. Having a 20 year old brother tends to make me watch professional sports a lot. Knowing that, you can assume that i too have realized that most athletes retire at a younger age. I also think that age has nothing to do with being fit and active. My mom is going to be 41 years old and is a competitive model. She trains in bikini and figure. I know she will be one of those little old ladies who will have a nicer body than most 20-30 year olds. To completely answer your question though, i don't think there should be a age limit to retire for sports. If you're good, and you enjoy it, why stop?

  15. Yes i do wonder because you see older people around 30-40 are trying to beat the best and a lot of them fail mean no one is at there physical shape if there bones are brittle so they break bones easier. (no one is a super grammy) what is with the 1v1 sports like boxing which is more rought then say tennis you know you can suffer broken bones and face and still play longer than tennis oooooooo a pulled a finger muscle i have to quit. then look at athletes from years ago like rocky balboa he quit for a year then made a comeback. another cace is tony Hawk he won't quit and he is getting worse and worse, so yea i wonder why for some people to play mlg pro sports

  16. I've never been into sports, so I never thought about why pro athletes retire at such a younger age. the pros of being an older athlete are that they will be doing what they enjoy for a longer period of time and they will maintain their physical physique. The cons of being an older athlete are that if get any injuries it will be more harmful then if they were younger.

  17. I have never wonder why professional athletes to retire from their sports at a young age. Maybe, They wanted to go in the real world and have a life. Then to go and play with a ball or something, or like they have a family and want to be there for there family because in there age they probably have a family. Its not like your going to get a child when your 40. Ain't nobody got time for that.

  18. I have always wondered why there is a retirement age when the per on is really good at a sport. If they are staying healthy sand doing what they love they shouldn't have to stop. I am aware that older people are susceptible to injuries but if they know they are going to hurt themselves then they will stop. I think that older people that are playing professional sports are being recognized because of their age. they are not necessarily good at the sport its just that their in it. the younger athletes are definitely beating the older athletes.

  19. i think that you should retire at 35. just so that you won't be sore all the time, you'll have a good career, and so that you'll be able to keep up with the younger players.

  20. People who say theres a certain age to retire at , I completely disagree with.
Understanding how in these times age is just a number for professional sports, I mean we have 60/80 year olds weightlifting and lifting 3x there weight and younger guys still struggle lifting under their weight.
Seeing these examples , I can say theres never an age where you should retire.

  21. I think that there should not be an age limit for playing professional sports. Though, I don't expect an eighty year old playing pro sports, either. You don't have to retire at a certain age, but maybe an appropriate age. As long as you're still in shape and not to fragile, then I think that you will be fine. You just have to know when it's the best time to stop.

  22. I don't think there should be an age limit for playing professional sports. As an athlete myself, playing soccer is what makes me happy and i want to be able to play as long as i can and I'm sure other athletes feel the same way. It isn't right to tell people to stop doing what they love, especially if thats what makes them happy. Happiness is really important in everyone's lives so we should be able to do what makes us happy as long as we desire. Also, i don't like seeing old people sad so they should do what they want. :-)
